Women’s boutique L’Armoire hosted a Kentucky Derby themed fundraiser for New Canaan Mounted Troop, a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive educational horsemanship and equine care programs for youth, on Thursday April 28.
Boutique owner Diane Roth, herself an equestrienne, encouraged party guests to dress up Derby-style and invited New York-based women’s hat stylist Ellen Christine, to show off her stunning spring / summer collection, and makeup artist-to-the-stars — Kevin James Bennett.
The evening was a huge success, according to Mounted Troop Executive Director Sara Tucker, with food provided by Gates and drinks supplied by Broken Shed Vodka. Beval Saddlery of New Canaan supported the event, raffling off a gift basket to benefit New Canaan Mounted Troop (NCMT).
The L’Armoire event raised a total of $6,775 for the nonprofit.
In 2012 NCMT launched the Super Troopers Therapeutic Program to serve children and adults with special needs. Last Fall over 60 adults and children with special needs experienced equine care and adaptive riding programs. NCMT is celebrating its 76th year.
